After over 40 years of owning horses, I’ve yet to find a practical solution for hanging stable blankets that didn’t involve standing on a stool or bucket. Wet blankets, often heavy and cumbersome, make this task even more awkward and dangerous. In my experience, getting up on a stool while handling a wet or bulky blanket isn’t just uncomfortable-it can be unsafe. It’s easy to lose your balance especially when trying to wrangle a soaked blanket into place.
Another common, yet risky practice is hanging blankets on the stall door bar. While this might seem like a solution it can be incredibly dangerous. My horseshoer told me he knew of at least 2 horses that played with their blankets over the stall door, got their bottom jaw hung on the bar, panicked and broke their jaw.
We designed a sturdy hanger you can use from the ground without stepping on a stool or risking injury to your horse. Our hanger gets your blankets off of the floor and hung safely, easily extending the life of your blanket out of the reach of rodents and allowing maximum air flow to dry.
